Chandigarh
19th Mar, 2019:- After winning many laurels for their
unique and value-driven education model, the Chain of Akal Academy Schools is
now featured in LIMCA Book of Records for India’s Biggest rally organized
against an important social issue “Drug Abuse”.
Continuing the appreciation and
recognition momentum, Akal Academy schools have set a new record whereby 15,000
students of 113 Akal Academy Schools from five states - Himachal Pradesh,
Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh rallied on roads against Drug
Abuse. This rally was held on 18th December, 2017 and succeeded in reaching out
and motivating 4 lakh people on their way. A total of 1400 km was covered that
day which is no ordinary feat. The achievements of Akal Academy School are as
special and socially enriching as their education model.

Academy Schools expressed her delight, she said that we are honoured and
blessed as Akal Academy Schools have made into the Limca Book of Records. Due
credit to the efforts of our students and we hope similar efforts would be made
by other quarters of the society in the direction of making India drug-free.
Akal Academy schools are run by The
Kalgidhar Trust that also runs two drug-de-addiction centres. These centers
organize many such awareness campaigns with the help of the students of Akal
Academy schools, throughout the year.
