Chandigarh 26th November:- As we talk about the growth and
development in the healthcare industry in india, home healthcare is one area,
our country is gradually inching towards. With the upcoming technology and
training’s given to healthcare professionals such as nurses and other specialists,
we would be able to extend high quality, affordable home healthcare, which is a
new concept in this region.
This was stated by Gurtej Singh,
Chairman of Ivy Group of Hospitals while speaking during 12th anniversary
of Ivy Hospital, Mohali hospital on Tuesday.
We have planned to start home care
for our patients soon, he informed. We are building a team of specialists who
will extend high quality affordable home healthcare after the patient has been
discharged from the hospital, said Singh.
He said further that home
healthcare is not available in most parts of the region but it is needed by
many patients. It will greatly reduce the cost of further hospitalization as
the patients can be put under proper supervision at their own homes, he opined.
Trained nurses under care of expert doctors shall be deputed by Ivy to ensure
that patients recover properly after a critical surgery or long hospitalization
due to critical illness.
He said that this service will also
help to offer a panoramic view to patients like catheterization, dressing,
physiotherapy, feeding tube, colostomy care, bed sore care, pain management and
nursing support for the patients.
Th service will in fact be a boon
for the patients, who are suffering from various deadly diseases like cancer,
cardiac, neurological, ,kidney failure, Alzheimer, Parkinson etc.
Dr. Kanwaldeep, Medical Director,
