Chandigarh Jan. 23, 2021:- School of Hotel Management & Tourism of Desh Bhagat
University celebrated National Tourism Day on the theme of ‘Sustainable
tourism’. National Tourism Day is celebrated in India on January 25 to create
awareness about significance of tourism among the society around the world and
about its cultural and economic values.
To mark the event tree
plantation was done. Total 10 fruit saplings of Mango, guava, plum, orange,
malta and Black Berry were planted.
On this occasion, Dr. Zora Singh,
Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, started the event by planting a mango
sapling. Speaking to the students, he said that the Mother Nature has provided
us with ultimate tourist attractions and we must work to preserve these
resources.
Dr.
Tejinder Kaur, Pro- Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University appreciated the concept
of tree plantation and said that this will be a move towards self sustenance
for the school as these trees once start bearing fruits can be used as a
kitchen garden.
