2021:- Department of Business Management, Commerce & Economics of
Desh Bhagat University Mandi Gobindgarh organized a seminar "Discussion on 2030 Agenda
for Sustainable Development Goals”. The objective of seminar was intended to create awareness and sensitivity among students and staff
members regarding the reduction of poverty,
hunger and child mortality; improve access to primary education, promote gender
equality and maternal health, combat major pandemic diseases, preserve the
environment and set up a partnership for development. Students also pledged to keep up their contribution for
sustainable development. Dr. J.S. Bhatia, Director Management, Commerce
& Economics expressed his concern about the Sustainable Development
Goals or Global Goals that are a collection of 17 interlinked global
goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable
future for all.
On this occasion, Dr.
Zora Singh, Chancellor Desh Bhagat University emphasized on the need of community
participation for the achievement of Sustainable Goals. He asked students and
faculty to join hands and work together with a spirit to achieve sustainable
development right from our community level.

Desh Bhagat University said that the Sustainable
Development Goals were set in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by the year 2030. Dr.
Rajni Saluja, Kirti Sharma & Manmeet Singh also delivered their views on
the Sustainable Development Goals.
