Kala Kendra organized a special programme in the context of 89th Birth Anniversary celebrations of its Founder, “Guru M.L. Koser”
who dedicated his whole life to the propagation of art and culture. A visionary artist , art promoter and a
man of courage and conviction, M.L. Koser was an institution unto himself who
pioneered the promotion of Classical Arts in this region.
Kendra celebrated his
Birth Anniversary with a soulful
concert of Ghazals by famous Ghazal singer Vinod Sehgal. Born in Ambala, Vinod Sehgal is one of the
young talents groomed by Jagjit Singh. He got his career break as a Ghazal
singer with the release of Cassettes “Brightest talents of 80’s” and “Jagjit
Singh presents Vinod Sehgal”. He sang for many famous films covering Hindi,
Punjabi, Haryanvi and Oria.

ADGP, Haryana Police graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Registrar Dr. Shobha
Koser , Secretary Sajal Koser and other hon’ble members of Board were also present
on the occasion. Programme was held at Tagore Theatre, Sector-18, Chandigarh.
Vinod Sehgal
commenced the concert with invocatory piece “Sanu Prabhji ik aadh geet udhara
hor dio “He established a rapport with
the audience in the very first Ghazal “ Shere fitrat hun main ” and “chehre pe kuch likha hai . Then he doled out with many other famous and soulful ghazals like Koi jhankar hai, dastoor ibadat ka, khil
uthe chehre sabhi, Lafz juda hai baat wahi hai,
agar talash karun to koi, hain
aur bhi duniya , ek dua ne bacha liya hai , tu kya jane diwane and many more
amidst thunderous applause.
He was ably
accompanied by fine team of accompanists like Mehmood Khan on Tabla, S. Binta on Dholak, Gurvinder Lovely on
Keyboard and Tilak Raj on Guitar. Kendra’s Registrar Dr. Shobha Koser and Sajal
Koser along with Chief Guest honored the artists.
