16th November:- As the nation celebrates the
birth anniversary of our first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and his
love for children in the form of Children’s Day, a special Assembly was held at
Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector-38 Chandigarh with immense joy and
enthusiasm. As usual, it began with chanting of shlokas and a prayer to seek
the blessings of the Almighty. The students of class VI acquainted the audience
with the life and achievements of Nehru Ji. Enthralling melodious songs,
informative speech, thoughts and beautiful poems were also recited with great
zeal and fervor.
To mark the festive mood a
painting competition was also organized for students of classes (VI-VIII) in
which everyone participated enthusiastically. The best five participants were
provided three minutes to explain their paintings. The talented children paid
their tribute to the efficient freedom fighter through their creativity and
exhibited their hidden innovative imagination through colours which mesmerized
the judges. The day was filled with love and exuberance and was a cherish able
one for all of us.
